It matters because it impacts all women, and it impacts our quality of life. It has an effect on our overall health and wellness, and directly contributes to self-image and confidence. It helps to shape how we view and enjoy intimacy, affecting our relationships and families.
In short, women’s sexual health impacts every part of a woman’s life. It’s inextricably linked to our well-being in every way. Despite this, most healthcare providers receive very little training when it comes to sexuality, and even less in the area of female sexual health.
Something has to change. Women need a voice; they need resources to turn to when faced with the challenges associated with sexual difficulties.
Components of sexual health range from the physiological to the psychological, and the Patty Brisben Foundation is committed to contributing to all aspects of women’s sexual health so that every woman can.
SEXUAL HEALTH MEANS DIFFERENT THINGS TO
DIFFERENT PEOPLE, SO TO YOU IT MAY MEAN:
Having the ability (and making the effort) to communicate with partners and healthcare providers and get information about sexual health.
Accepting your sexuality as a natural part of your life.
Understanding that sexuality encompasses more than just sexual behavior.
Being able to experience your preferred volume and variety of sexual pleasure, satisfaction, and intimacy.
